im fascinated over this book right now:

world

i was rummaging through our cabinets here at home and to my surprise, it seems that we have a mini-library! the former occupants of the house that i am living in right now has somewhat left us with legacies: lots of BOOKS! and i just love them.. the books ranged from sciece, mathematics, nursing books, fiction, engineering books, magazines and a whole lot more.. while i was looking for an inetersting one, i came upon the oldest book that i saw and it entitled: WORLD’S WICKEDEST WOMEN written by Margaret Nicholas.. my mind tingled with the anticipation of reading it.. and at the end of the last page, i was in awe.. the author has pointed at least 10 women with notorious life.. the stories were shocking and you can’t believe that a woman can actually do that.. i thought women of ancient times are timid and laid-back but i was wrong, they were fearless and witty and bright and very intelligent. they use their bodies and beauty to lure men, and eventually gain wealth and power and fame.. it’s really an engrossing one.. a must-read.. emoticon

Angels and Demons

and

Angels and Demons is a bestselling mystery novel by Dan Brown. Published in 2000, it introduces the character Robert Langdon, who is also the principal character of Brown’s subsequent, better-known novel The Da Vinci Code. It also shares many stylistic elements with the better known novel, such as conspiracies of secret societies, a single day time frame and the Roman Catholic Church. The story involves a conflict between an ancient group, the Illuminati, and the Roman Catholic Church.

The basic plot is a classic race against time to find a hidden bomb and hunt down a serial killer in Rome. As its backdrop, the book debates the question about which is to be trusted - science or religion. It purports to show how the Vatican works as the plot to blow it up is uncovered during the conclave, revealing hidden secrets and mysteries as the story unfolds.

Angels & Demons is part thriller, part mystery, and all action. A highly entertaining, page-turning thriller. Well researched, and pulsingly told. With so much to enjoy, the only problem for the reader will be to keep from turning the pages too quickly.

this book is the one of the best that i have read, definitely one of the best.. until now, it still give me the creeps..

i’m soo in to it right now..

January 24, 2008

my vacant times are usually spent reading.. even when i’m busy, i still find time to read.. the stories amuse me, delight me, and it’s able to teach me new vocabularies.. books are as special as computers to me.. i can’t imagine live without these two things.. might wonder what bore i am, don’t you? a girl who spends almost all her time sitting in front of the computer and engrossing with a book.. nah, this is just me, the real me.. good thing i still have the 20-20 vision.. haha..

now, i’m presently engrossed with "Almost Heaven" by Judith McNaught, it is my most favorite.. this is the only romance novel that made me cry.. i was able to read this when i was still in high school and the yesterday while going through about the books in the library, i saw it.. my mind tingled with the anticipation of reading it once more.. i ought to finish it tonight and i want to know if it still can make me cry.. during high school,i thought that if i would marry a guy, i would like him to be the likes of Ian Thornton, the lead of this novel.. and now that i’m already in college, i found that guy.. he even surpassed my wildest dreams.. whew..

crazy ’bout Judith McNaught..

January 17, 2008

i can say that i am really a bookworm, not a wide reader in it’s truest sense, but a crazy fanatic of romance novels. i can go on reading for hours and hours, with or without sleep, with or without eating. aside from writing, reading is one if my passion. if i’ve got nothing to do, i just grab a romance novel and i’m ok to go. LOLS. and if ever i’m ask to recommend the best romance author, it would be Judith McNaught. other authors like jude deveraux, kathleen woodiwiss and nora roberts are also favorites of mine. but there is something about the stories of judith mcnaught that keeps you craving for more. i have read almost all of her novels, atleast all her books that are in the library. recently, i have just finished reading Once and Always. opposite really attracts and the author has really shown that love can conquer all. some of the titles of Judith are Perfect, Something Wonderful, Until You, Almost heaven, and Paradise. after reading her novel, you can’t help but swoon and wish that your love story would be as good and as romantic as the stories that she has written.

i am looking for her "Remember When" book. to those who’ll read this and has a copy of it, please lend it to me.. haha.. i would trade everything, even one-fourth of what i have for that book. there isn’t a copy in the lib and i can’t find it in any bookshops here in the city.. so please.. =)
