The death of former president Cory Aquino generated a deep effect on the nation’s political atmosphere. The Filipino people was shocked when Sen. Mar Roxas withdrew his candidacy for the highly coveted position which is the presidency. Instead, he endorsed Sen. Noynoy Aquino as president for 2010 election, and he as the vice-president instead.
The result of the Social Weather Station survey showed a change in the political alignments of presidential aspirants. When the media asked Sen. Noynoy about the 2010 election, he answered that he is open to any possibility. He also said that he will not close his heart to the possibility of running for president.
Finally, Sen. Noynoy made his decision after his spiritual retreat and asked their spiritual adviser about it. He committed himself for presidency this 2010 election.
Yes, Sen. Noynoy Aquino is the son of our late president Cory Aquino but the question is, is Sen. Noynoy prepare to face his adversaries? As Sun Tzu in the art of war says “Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.”
Poverty and environmental destruction are some of the enemies of our country that Sen. Noynoy has to face in the future. But only Filipino people can answer that question if he will be our next president.
You, who will you vote for?
